How to avoid skin blemishes.
02 June, 2023The good weather arrives, and with it the sun exposures and sunbathing.
We love tanning and absorbing that vitamin D that the sun gives us, but not so much the spots it produces on our skin.
But what is tanning?
Nothing more and nothing less than the result of the action of melanin, a pigment that is activated to absorb ultraviolet radiation and thus protect us. We could call it our skin's natural response to the sun.
With age, this melanin does not act in a homogeneous way and that is why hyperpigmentation is found in some areas, what we usually call blemishes.
Spots are very frequent in people who are regularly exposed to the sun.
The good news is that we can avoid them if we expose ourselves responsibly.
We are going to name some guidelines that will help us to prevent sun spots:
We must be responsible and say no to overexposure.
Avoid sun exposure at peak hours from 12 to 16 hours.
Avoid sunbathing after waxing, as the skin is more vulnerable.
Do not use perfume if you are going to expose yourself to the sun.
Wear a hat, sunglasses and clothing that covers highly sensitive areas.
Check which cosmetics we are applying, we should avoid those formulas that have active ingredients that may cause photosensitivity.
Use daily high-spectrum sun protection, not only in the summer, but throughout the year, it will be the best option to prevent premature aging.
Light textures that do not clog pores are recommended, and renew it frequently every 2 or 3 hours if we are in prolonged sun exposure.
Currently, our formulas have intensive treatment actives that protect you from the sun at the same time.
We should choose a sun protection factor of 30 or higher to be really effective against type A and type B ultraviolet rays. There are options that make day-to-day life easier, such as the sun protection factor cream with color of Maystar SPF 50while protecting you give your skin an even tone and you can dispense with make-up.
Another option is to include in your diet foods that help us to prevent these hyperpigmentations, such as foods with high concentrations of antioxidants, which will help us to protect the skin and thus avoid premature aging, in that list we can name tomatoes, carrots, pumpkin... As well as in oily fish we can find essential fatty acids, which will help us to maintain the elasticity and hydration of the skin.
Enjoying the sun in a responsible way, is the gift of wellness, health and beauty to your skin.
